Theta Pi is a local sorority founded by five women in 1979. The five founding members created Theta Pi as an alternate to the fraternity-dominated social life of the time.
Chapter Nickname: Theta Pi
When Chapter was Founded at Sewanee: Spring 1979
Values: Celebrating strength in our differences
Annual Programs: For over a decade, Theta Pi partnered with Blue Monarch each year to organize the annual Turkey Trot, which was one of the largest community wide philanthropic events of the year. During the Easter 2018 semester, Theta Pi hosted our first annual Hearts for Healing Fundraising Gala at the Sewanee Inn. This event raised over $7,000 from event ticket sales, raffle tickets, individual donations, and an online silent auction. We started incorporating the One Love Foundation into our philanthropic program in 2017, and effectively donated half of the raised funds from our gala to Blue Monarch and half to One Love.
