Academic Success: Tutoring

Certain departments offer formal, structured tutoring programs. If the subject you need is not noted below, please speak with your faculty member about tutoring options.

Chemistry: The Chemistry Department has a tutoring program for general chemistry and organic chemistry (CHEM 100, 120, and 201 & 202). General Chemistry tutors are available Sunday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM in Woods Laboratories 206.  Organic Chemistry tutors are available Sunday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM in Spencer 262.

Italian: see the Language Resource Center

Latin: Tuesday: 6-8 p.m.; Thursday: 6-8 p.m.; Saturday: 7-9 p.m.; Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Tutor will be on the ground floor of Gailor (either at the tables at the bottom of the stairs or in room 19)

Mathematics: The Mathematics department offers tutoring for 100-level courses Monday-Thursday 7-9 pm in WL 123.  This is staffed by students (typically math majors).

Philosophy: Philosophy has a writing tutor who will be available in the group study room on main floor of DuPont Library (it will be on your left as you enter the Library, next to the stairwell) on the following days: Sunday, 6-9 PM; Monday, 6-8 PM; and Wednesday, 6-8 PM. Please bring a printed copy of the paper you are working on, along with any instructions which have been provided for this assignment.

Physics: Introductory Physics tutoring  (PHYS 101 and PHYS 103) offered Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 in WL 228.
