4-22-2008 2008 Softball: Judson Defeats Sewanee in Softball Doubleheader

SEWANEE, Tenn. 4/22/08 – Judson College took a pair of games from the Tigers in Sewanee today on Senior Day. The Eagles won the first game 17-1 and the second game 14-0. Prior to the start of the first game, Emily Caton (Earlysville, Va./The Miller School), Sewanee’s only senior, was honored.

4-13-2008 2008 Softball: Tigers Drop Doubleheader to Centre

SEWANEE, Tenn. 4/13/08 – The Centre Colonels swept a softball doubleheader from the Sewanee Tigers today in Sewanee. Centre took the opener by the score of 19-0. Morgan Cannon (Vidalia, Ga./Vidalia) had Sewanee's only hit, a single in the bottom of the fourth inning.

4-12-2008 2008 Softball: Sewanee Loses Pair to Centre

SEWANEE, Tenn. 4/12/08 - The Centre Colonels defeated Sewanee in both ends of an afternoon doubleheader played today in Sewanee. The Colonels took the first game 36-0 and the second game 20-2. Sewanee and Centre will play a doubleheader again tomorrow beginning at noon.

3-31-2008 2008 Softball: Tigers Gain Doubleheader Split With Fisk

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Sewanee Tigers rode the arm and the bat of junior Morgan Cannon (Vidalia, Ga./Vidalia) to notch their first victory of the season in the second game of today’s softball doubleheader with Fisk University by the score of 9-8. The Bulldogs came out on top in the first game 11-2. The victory gave first-year coach Amber George her first win as a head coach.

3-21-2008 2008 Softball: Sewanee Loses Two Games to Fisk

NASHVILLE, Tenn. 3/21/08 – The Fisk Bulldogs swept a doubleheader from Sewanee today in softball action played in Nashville. Fisk took the first game 21-5 and downed the Tigers 12-2 in game two. Junior Morgan Cannon (Vidalia, Ga./Vidalia) suffered the loss on the mound in the first game.

3-21-2008 2008 Softball: Tigers Drop Both Ends of Season Opening Doubleheader

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. 3/20/08 – The Sewanee Tigers opened the 2008 softball season on Thursday night with a doubleheader loss to Covenant College in Chattanooga. The first game went to Covenant by the score of 25-0 and the night cap was won by the Scots 15-0. Morgan Cannon (Vidlalia, Ga./Vidalia) was the losing pitcher in both games.

8-16-2007 Sewanee Athletics: George Named Head Softball/Assistant. B-Ball Coach

SEWANEE 8/16/07 Sewanee has named Franklin County native Amber George as its head softball coach and assistant women’s basketball coach, according to Mark Webb, Sewanee’s athletic director. “I am pleased that Coach George, someone with strong local ties, will be joining our department. She's an enthusiastic and organized young coach who I anticipate will have great success leading our softball program.” Adds Webb. George comes to the Mountain from Judson College, where she was most recently assistant softball and assistant basketball coach.
