Elise Landreaux (C'15), Hali Steinmann (C'15) and Alastair Keith-Lucas (C'13) worked with professor Ken Smith, island research director Royce Hayes, and naturalist Christa Hayes to publish their work on forest change in an unusual hickory-dominated forest on the island. This work built on previous research by other island ecology students, and the students examined how deer, feral hogs, and climate have interacted to create rapid change in this unique location. The paper can be viewed here.
