DebateWatch is a series of viewing parties for the three presidential debates and the one vice-presidential debate. Participants should arrive between 7:30-7:45 p.m., before each televised debate begins. The debates will end at 9:30 p.m. Participants will then take part in a 30-minute dialogue and discussion debriefing the debate, concluding by 10 p.m. This format offers a way for participants to watch and critically analyze the debate without the bias of the media or commentators.
DebateWatch is open to students, staff, faculty, and community members, with the goal of providing a space to engage in dialogue and discussion surrounding the presidential and vice presidential debates.
The debate dates are Monday, Sept. 26; Tuesday, Oct. 4 (VP debate); Sunday, Oct. 9; and Wednesday, Oct. 19. The format of the event includes dinner.
Seats are limited. Please RSVP* to Michelle Howell (firstname.lastname@example.org) as soon as possible if you would like to attend one of the four events. Please include the date you wish to attend and any dietary or allergy restrictions.
*When reserving a seat for an event, you are committing your attendance for the entire two-hour duration.*
