The University of the South has announced a partnership with the University of Chester, located in Chester, England. This announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the universities, as well as visits to the University of Chester by Terry Papillon, dean of the College, and Neil Alexander, dean of the School of Theology.
“The University of the South is very pleased to enter into an agreement with the University of Chester, to find partnerships involving students and faculty,” said Papillon. “Preliminary discussions have shown many possible paths that will be exciting to explore. I look forward to furthering this relationship.”
Both institutions hope that the coalition will lead eventually to more opportunities for international research and for study away and student exchange programs. More details will be forthcoming about enhanced opportunities brought about through the partnership, as these ideas are considered.
As expressed by Tim Wheeler, vice-chancellor of the University of Chester, “This is a very exciting opportunity for the University to build on and develop its international reputation in research. We are really looking forward to being able to welcome more U.S. students to Chester and to enabling staff to enhance research through collaborations and exchanges with world-leading academic colleagues in America.”
