From the opening pitch of the first Sewanee varsity baseball game in 1875 to the success of our current varsity athletes, teams, and coaches, the rich sports heritage of the University is known nationwide.
With a long list of undefeated teams, All-Americans, and national scholar-athletes, Sewanee continues its impressive athletic accomplishments on into the 21st century.
One of the highest honors for those who represent the varsity athletics program is induction in the Sewanee Athletics Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame’s purpose is to give lasting recognition to those individuals and teams who have made exceptional contributions to the achievements and prestige of the University in the field of athletics and who have continued to demonstrate in their lives the values imparted by intercollegiate athletics.
The reward of competition through sports, the importance of good sportsmanship, and the desire to succeed through hard work, discipline, and teamwork, have proven to be of value in the lives of the men and women who represent Sewanee varsity athletics.
