Leslye and Bill Altemeier are strong believers in education, and have created the Altemeier Prize to support a teacher earning a master's degree from the Sewanee School of Letters. The Altemeiers see teaching a teacher as having an important multiplier effect, with the Altemeier Prize winner going on to help generations of students.
