When: August 28-29, 2007
Where: Fowler Center
Who: All incoming First Years, Upperclassmen and Transfer students
Those selected for the 2007 squad must stay after tryouts have concluded. There will be a meeting, uniforms will be distributed and we will have a short practice. Practice should last approximately 90 minutes.
Tryout Eligibility:
Completed Physical Form
Completed all Insurance and Release Forms
Incoming First Years and Transfer Students
*Must be accepted to Sewanee for the Fall Term
Upperclassmen
*Must be a full time student (12+ hours)
*Minimum GPA of 2.0
If you do not meet the above requirements, you will not be allowed to tryout. No Exceptions.
Tryout Requirements:
Cheer
Entrance (including spiriting, jumps and running tumbling)
Jump Sequence (whip right herkie, left herkie, toe-touch)
Original Cheer
Original Dance
Candidates must wear appropriate shoes, shorts, fitted tank (must cover stomach, no sport bras) and hair must be in a pony tail.
The Dance and Cheer should be choreographed individually by each candidate and should incorporate jumps and tumbling. There is no time requirement for the Dance or Cheer. It is your time to show off your best cheerleading skills, so the length is left up to each individual candidate. Tumbling is not a requirement but strongly encouraged.
