One of the most exciting and demanding opportunities for theatre students is directing one act or full length productions in either the Studio Theatre or as part of the mainstage season in the Proctor Hill Theatre.

Senior theatre majors have directed the following fully mounted productions as part of the Theatre/Sewanee season in recent years: the musicals, Evita, Tintypes, and Quilters; the drama, The Grapes of Wrath; the comedies, Private Lives and The Mandrake; the drama,The Dresser; Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice; the comedy, Philadelphia, Here I Come; The Vagina Monologues; and the drama, Equus.
