Professor Sánchez is traveling with students studying for a semester in Spain and reports that everyone is having a wonderful time. Here is an idea of what the students have been experiencing in Spain!
So finally we left Madrid and went to Cuenca and Valencia for the weekend (February 1-3). Cuenca was sunny, but as usual cold, but not freezing. Valencia was sunny and waaaaaaarrrrrrrrrmmmmmm. So walking the city was nice and, of course, we had class, last stop the Cathedral with Professor Antonio Momplet explaining the main points and we are all hearing him through earphones.
After class we went to eat, to recover from all the walking and learning. Where? L'Estimat, on the beach :)
What did we eat? Well the main dishes (yes, plural) were three different types of rice. From left to right: vegetable paella, "black rice" and chicken paella. Black rice is made with calamari and seafood and the ink of the calamari.
The next day, after visiting the IVAM (Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno) everybody was exhausted and had to take a nap :)
The last stop of the trip was a small town called Alfarp, where they presented us with another paella and plenty of other really good foods.
Next trip (February 20) to Segovia and on the 21st we are going to Burgos, La Guardia, Pamplona, San Sebastian and Bilbao. More classes and more great food!
