After graduating from Sewanee in 2008, Chelsea began her two-year hiatus between undergrad and medical school. She was able to spend some time in Costa Rica, using her knowledge as a Spanish major to interpret for her godfather. However, she spent much of the first year studying for her second round with the MCAT, as well as preparing to apply to medical school. Her free time consisted of working at her hometown health department along with volunteering at a non-profit health clinic. In the fall of 2009, she was accepted early decision to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Since her acceptance, she has traveled to Antarctica and Argentina, and plans to continue traveling until matriculation at MCG in August of 2010.
