Careers in Health & Medicine

November 11, 2017

On Saturday, November 18th, Sewanee alumni with careers in health care will come back to the Mountain to share information and advice with current students. This is an exciting opportunity to meet professionals working in fields that interest you, hear their processes of getting where they are, and build valuable connections. In addition to an array of physicians, representatives will be present from a variety of health care fields including nursing, dentistry, occupational therapy, and veterinary medicine.

Physicians in allergy/immunology, anesthesiology, cardiology, endocrinology, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and psychiatry will be in attendance.  Learn about careers in private practice, in hospital settings, and in academia. Hear from medical and nursing students, pediatric and orthodontic residents, medical and nursing professors, veterinarians, nurse practitioners, and an occupational therapist.

The morning will include a coffee and pastry reception, small practice-specific sessions, and a “How Do You Make It Happen?” panel. It will be followed by a catered networking luncheon. In the afternoon, optional practice interviews aimed at preparing you for medical and other professional school interviews will take place. Preference for interview slots will be given to juniors and seniors, followed by sophomores, as space allows. Explore the full schedule here.

Take advantage of this incredible opportunity for networking, learning, and interview practice, especially if you are applying to professional school soon. Don’t miss out on this invaluable experience!

Register on TigerNet, under Events, by November 14th to attend the luncheon. Register by November 16th for the group sessions, panel, and interviews.  Specific interview slots will be available at a later date.
