The German Department will offer its three-week summer program in Berlin in the summer of 2015. The course consists of daily coursework in the morning at the Deutsch in Deutschland language Institute. A culture program is offered to Sewanee students in the afternoon where they explore Berlin’s rich cultural heritage and museums along with some of its surrounding cities, such as Potsdam, Leipzig, Dresden, Wittenberg or Stettin/Szczecin in Poland.
Students receive graded DiD certificates, counted as German 360. In addition, students can attend a two-week preparation course in Sewanee, counted as German 203. The fee of $2,400 includes room and board along with DiD and Sewanee tuition. Scholarships are available through Jackson/Cross funds. The Sewanee preparation course will be offered June 1 - 13, 2015, the Berlin course will be offered June 14 - July 3, 2015. Interested students should apply to Dr. Zachau. email@example.com
