James Ross Macdonald

A member of the English department since 2013, Ross studies and teaches sixteenth and seventeenth-century British writers, especially Milton, Jonson, and Spenser. His recent work includes "Calvinist Theology and 'Country Divinity' in Marlowe's Doctor Faustus" (Studies in Philology, 2014) and "The Redcrosse Knight and the Limits of Human Holiness" (Spenser Studies, 2015). He also teaches in the Medieval & Early Modern semester of Sewanee's interdisciplinary Humanities program.
