On Nov. 17 to 19, 2017, economists will gather at the Southern Economics Association 87th Annual Meeting in Tampa, Florida. Several of the Sewanee economics faculty will join in the discussions this year. Professors Tao Song, Brad Sturgill, Serkan Karadas, and Aaron Elrod will be giving presentations.
The professors and their presentations:
Tao Song will present “Anywhere They Go, We Go: Immigration Inflow’s Impact on Co-Ethnic Native,” co-authored with Huanan Xu.
Brad Sturgill will present “Labor Shares, Capitalism and Economic Freedom: A Cross-Country Panel Analysis,” co-authored with John Dawson from Appalachian State College
Serkan Keradas will present three papers:
“Sentiment and Style: Evidence from Republican Managers,” co-authored with Jorida Papakroni from Franklin & Marshall College.
“Estimating the Effect of Campaign Contributions on Clean Water Act Enforcement,” co-authored with Aaron Elrod and Katherine Theyson both from Sewanee.
“State Level Real GDP Growth and Presidential Elections, 1905-2016,” co-authored with Brad Sturgill from Sewanee.
Aaron Elrod will present two papers:
